Take Two Aspirin and Call Me in the Morning….
We often get questions in our office as to why there isn’t a drug to treat or reverse hearing loss. Well, now it appears that we are getting closer to that day. Researchers at the University of Florida have found that by combining the hormone aldosterone and anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen, they were able to slow the progression of hearing loss related to the aging process in mice.
The researchers have been awarded a patent for their work and are now working to license the patent. If successful, they will then begin 4 levels of human clinical trials. Stay tuned…
